Creamy Baked Mac N Cheese

The honor for the first post goes to my brother-in-law, Jason. Baked mac-n-cheese is his "go to" meal. He likes to go crazy on the pepper.

Creamy Baked Mac N Cheese

Creamy Baked Mac N Cheese

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound Fusili pasta (Cooked for 4 to 5 minutes in Boiling hot water) Drain and set aside
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups half and half
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup muenster cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese (Sprinkle on top)
  • 1/2 cup jack cheese (sprinkle on top)
  • Parmesan cheese (sprinkle on top) Optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions:

1. Cook pasta in a pot of boiling water for 4-5 minutes. Drain then set aside.

2. Preheat oven at 375 deg F.

3. In a large bowl, combine eggs, half and half, and buttermilk. Mix thoroughly then add garlic powder, cheddar cheese, muenster cheese, and jack cheese. Salt and pepper to taste. Continue to mix thoroughly.

4. Combine pasta to the cheese mixture. Mix thoroughly.

5. Prepare a large baking dish by spraying Canola oil or any preferred cooking spray.

6. Pour pasta/cheese mix into baking dish and spread out evenly. Optionally, you may sprinkle sharp cheddar cheese, jack cheese and parmesan cheese on top.

7. Place in oven and bake for 50 minutes.

8. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Caveat: The above recipe calls for Fusili pasta. But elbow macaroni is used instead.
